Emigrated from the Dominican Republic as a child and grew up in Inwood, where she has lived her entire life. Her parents also live in the community. Mother to her daughter Mia. First person in her family to attend college. Her father always spoke about community and politics from an early age, mostly about politics back in the Dominican Republic.
