Antonio "Moe" Maestas is a New Mexico State Senator representing District 26. An 11th-generation New Mexican born in Albuquerque, he earned his B.A. from the University of Washington and J.D. from UNM School of Law. Over his 18-year legislative tenure, he championed universal early childhood education and led historic criminal justice reforms.

Family & Heritage

Hispano/Nuevomexicano, 11th-generation New Mexican, born and raised in Albuquerque. Family roots extend back approximately 400 years to the early Spanish colonial period. Married to Vanessa Alarid. Three children: Gabriela (21), Mateo (10), and Isadora (8).
