Antoinette Sedillo Lopez is a New Mexico State Senator representing District 16, the first woman and first Hispanic to represent the district. She grew up in the small farming village of Los Chavez with deep New Mexico roots. She earned her law degree from UCLA and was a law professor for 27 years, serving as series editor for "Latino Communities: Emerging Voices."
