Councilwoman Olivia Diaz made history in 2019 as the first Latina elected to the Las Vegas City Council. Born and raised on the east side of Las Vegas, she represents Ward 3 which encompasses downtown Las Vegas - a constituency that is more than 65% Hispanic. Before joining the council, she served in the Nevada Assembly from 2011-2018 representing District 11.

Born in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1978. Daughter of hardworking immigrant parents. One of six siblings. Grew up on the east side of Las Vegas. First person in family to graduate from college. 1996 Miss Hispanic of Las Vegas.
