Parents Felix and Anna Moran left behind their comfortable lives in the Dominican Republic to make a new life in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Felix was an accountant and Anna a nurse. He was eight years old when his family arrived, and his parents, unable to speak English at first, took jobs in factories.
