Elizabeth Velasco is a Colorado State Representative for House District 57, encompassing Pitkin, Garfield, and parts of Eagle County on the Western Slope. Born in Mexico, her family immigrated to Eagle County when she was 16. She is the first Mexican-born state representative in Colorado, the first Latina legislator from the Western Slope, and the first openly LGBTQ legislator in western Colorado.
