About

A third-generation Ontario resident with deep roots in the community, Andrea Galván grew up in a mixed-culture household—her mother from rural Kentucky and her Mexican-immigrant father from a family that came from Michoacán in the 1960s. She grew up in a blue house in downtown on D Street, walking to the library with her mom and sparking a lifelong love of learning. Her grandfather worked as a butcher and her father in manufacturing. Andrea became the first in her family to attend college, earning her Master's in Violence, Terrorism and Security in Belfast, Northern Ireland at just 21. Her career in global security analysis, disaster preparedness, and housing development prepared her to tackle Ontario's pressing issues.
